☀️ Using tretinoin during summer? You can—but a few adjustments are important!
🔹 Wear SPF every day. Tretinoin increases sensitivity to UV rays, so use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and reapply when needed to help prevent irritation and hyperpigmentation. Mineral sunscreens are often a good option for sensitive skin, as they may be less irritating for some people.
💧 Hydrate !!! Aim to drink enough water throughout the day (around 2.5 liters for most adults, depending on activity level and climate). Proper hydration helps support the skin barrier and may reduce dryness and discomfort while using tretinoin.
🔹 Keep your skin hydrated. Summer heat, swimming, and air conditioning can all contribute to dryness.
Air conditioning can reduce moisture in the air, which may leave the skin feeling drier and more sensitive.
🔹 Keep your routine simple. If your skin feels irritated, avoid harsh exfoliants and focus on gentle cleansing and moisturizing.
With sun protection, moisturization, and hydration, tretinoin can remain a safe and effective part of your summer skincare routine. 🌊☀️
